Infinity Ward and Activision released the Modern Warfare game trailer, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.
If you’re a Call of Duty enthusiast like we are, “stoked”, “excited”, “omg”, and several other single-word reactions came out after watching the trailer.
Initial Thoughts
The trailer jammed a lot of content in under two minutes. It starts off with a familiar voice that causes immediate nostalgia and leads into what appears to be gameplay from what will likely be a campaign mode.
As with previous Modern Warfare campaigns, the visuals and the storyline will test your mettle. Gun battles in public areas, riots, bombs striking the battlefield just when you feel you’ve made it to a safe place, and night vision battles seek to build on the franchise’s history of unique gameplay. It all seems like the standard intensity of the campaign mode. Whether you choose to be good or evil, as always the choice will be yours.
The true fans of the franchise remember the “All Ghillied Up” sniper mission from the original Modern Warfare. I’ve easily played it at least a dozen times. It set an expectation of future gameplay. It immersed you in a desolate field as Captain Price. Being led past enemy patrols while using the Ghillie suit to hide in plain sight.
Lastly, there was a callout in the video that eluded we might have some additional unique wasteland-like battles ahead. The kid was creepy just casually playing in a radioactive field. It’s just another teaser that will likely set the standard for the next game in the franchise’s history.
The Modern Warfare game trailer sets the bar pretty high. What unique and innovative features will they include? We are beyond excited to see what Infinity Ward and Activision will release over the next few months.
