From new maps and weapons, new points of interest on Caldera, and even King Kong and Godzilla, this season has it all. With a lot to unpack let’s jump straight into it.

The first thing to note is that Season 3 starts on April 27th. This is after updates to both Vanguard and Warzone on the 26th and 27th respectively (both at 9am PST).

Operation Monarch, beginning May 11th, has operators drop into Caldera, now home to Godzilla and King Kong. What these two monsters are doing there is yet to be see, but it is sure to be chaotic. Further, this is not the only thing players should expect as rumblings beneath Caldera should be noted.

A new point of interest, Dig Site, holds the bones of a prehistoric creature and more making it the ideal place for operators to battle. Additionally, Peak, Runway, and Lagoon are all being revamped. These changes gives clues as to what is coming with Operation Monarch.

The Gulag on Caldera moves from the mines below the map t the belly of an off-shore boat. This open-concept Gulag will be the ultimate proving ground for operators looking for a second chance. Known as The Hold, operators will need to remain vigilant to earn the right to drop back in.

This season, four new weapons can be added to a player’s arsenal. Through the Battle Pass, the M1916 Marksman Rifle and the Nikita AVT Assault Rifle make the perfect pair. Additionally, in season, players can add the Junkyard Jet Sledgehammer melee weapon and the H4 Blixen submachine gun.

Three new operators join the fight in Season 3. At launch, players can become Mateo Hernandez while his Task Force Harpy teammates, Florence Carter and Kim Tae Young, join later on.

Two brand new maps become fighting grounds for players in Season 3. At launch, players can take the fight to Mayhem, a 1950s movie set built for fast-paced combat. In addition, Sphere, coming later in season, takes players to a small weapons lab beneath the façade of a coal mine.

Veterans of Call of Duty are sure to be familiar with the new field upgrade in Season 3. The Trophy System, an equipment that neutralizes incoming projectiles, will surely change the course of any battle.

Plenty of additional content including new bundles, new challenges, new ranked play rewards, and more are on the way.

New challenges, rewards, and more come to Vanguard zombies this season. However, the biggest update to zombies comes after Season 3 with the introduction of round-based zombies and Shi No Numa.
