The Season 1 Reloaded update has gone live in Call of Duty: Vanguard and will soon be going live in Warzone. New operators are available alongside other fixes and content updates. The most notable piece of content released with the Season 1 Reloaded update is the brand new Welgun submachine gun! The Welgun is the first new submachine gun to be added to Vanguard since the game’s release on November 5th of 2020. Similar to other DLC weapons in the past, to unlock the Welgun, players must complete a set of in-game challenges. There are two sets of challenges to unlock the Welgun; one in zombies and one in multiplayer.

For those who want to take on the undead to unlock the Welgun, here is your task. Players must get 5 rapid critical kills with an SMG in 50 different portal zones. This means that players must go through a portal 50 times and get five rapid critical kills in those zones.

However, if multiplayer is more your style then here is what you must do. Players must get 10 ADS kills using an SMG in 15 different matches. It is unclear at the time whether you must complete the matches or not for the challenge to track. However, as we have seen in the past, it would be best if you completed the matches to ensure proper tracking.

These are the two current ways to unlock the Welgun right now in Call of Duty: Vanguard. This gun will be available for players to use in both Vanguard and Warzone! Being a new weapon, it will be interesting to see if and/or how the meta shifts to adapt to Call of Duty’s newest gun.
