The full reveal of Modern Warfare II is just around the corner. Starting with the early access campaign release on October 20th, the full release of MW2 is slated for October 28th. Just yesterday we learned plenty of intel regarding the first few weeks of Infinity Ward’s newest title. With a lot to cover let’s jump straight into it.
Call of Duty does something this year they’ve never done before. On October 20th those that have preordered MW2 will be able to hop into the early access release of the campaign. Through the campaign, players will work through the MW2 story while earning campaign-exclusive rewards. These rewards include blueprints, XP tokens, cosmetics, and more.
Seasonal prestiges return in Modern Warfare II as every season players will progress from levels 1 to 55 within different prestiges. With this progression and other challenges, players will be able to earn weapons, kits, operators, and more.
Modern Warfare II, at launch, will feature over 50 unique weapons. These weapons, stemming from over 30 weapon trees, round out the largest at-launch arsenal we’ve seen in Call of Duty. Further, players can work to unlock platform-specific and universal attachments including receivers that serve as additional functional weapons.
12 modes, 10 core and 2 Ground War, are available for play at launch. Players take to three regions of maps in Al Mazrah, Las Almas, and the rest of the world to play these modes. We also learned about plenty of the operators joining the fight on October 20th including Ghost, Price, and Soap.
The start dates for Season 1 and Season 1 Reloaded were also revealed in this post. Season 1 begins on November 16th and introduces Warzone 2.0 DMZ and Battle Royale. Additionally, Season 1 Reloaded begins December 14th and introduces Raids. Raids will be part of Special Ops which returns this year with three missions at launch.
