“The ultimate weapon is team.” Modern Warfare 2’s official announcement came with plenty of exciting news. We now have official game art, a reveal date, release date, and so much more. With Modern Warfare 2 being arguably the most anticipated Call of Duty ever, let’s jump straight into the intel.

On May 24th, we received a massive teaser that confirmed this year’s Call of Duty to be Modern Warfare 2. During the trailer, many spotted what seemed like the reveal date. Now, the belief is confirmed. The worldwide reveal of Modern Warfare 2 is on June 8th, 2022. Additionally, Call of Duty posted a trailer showcasing many of the games characters including Price, Soap, and Ghost. If history repeats itself, this will be an overall reveal with other reveals (such as multiplayer) coming at a later date.

Not only do we have the reveal date but we also know the worldwide reveal date. The latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise comes to all platforms on October 28th, 2022. This will be the last Call of Duty released on a yearly release cycle as it was reported that there will be no new Call of Duty in 2023.

In other shocking news, it would appear that Modern Warfare 2 will be released on Steam. As of right now, Call of Duty is only available for purchase and play through Battle.net, a change that occurred a few years ago. However, Steam’s official Twitter account teased the return of Call of Duty to their service (see below).

Plenty of information is sure to be on the horizon regarding Modern Warfare 2. With the reveal being a few days away, we are sure to learn more in the coming days. Be on the lookout here at IPC for all the need-to-know intel.
