Yesterday, Call of Duty released the Vanguard Season 1 and Caldera Roadmap. This roadmap outlines the content that players can expect in the coming season. With plenty of information to cover, let’s jump straight into it.
Season 1 begins at 9am PT on Wednesday, December 8th. The content goes live across both Vanguard and Warzone. Players can update Vanguard now and Warzone at 9pm PT on December 7th. From 9pm PT on December 7th until 9am PT on December 8th, the Warzone servers will be down to prepare for the update.
Worthy of note is that owners of Call of Duty: Vanguard will be able to drop into Caldera 24-hours early starting at 9am PT on December 8th. All players will be able to drop in at 9am PT on December 9th. Further, Rebirth Island will return and be available for all players on December 8th. Players can drop into Verdansk for the last time through the Final Hours of Verdansk event until the server downtime.
The Battle Pass is back! Players can work through 100 Tiers of exciting content! New weapons, blueprints, cosmetics, operators and skins, and even COD Points are all available throughout. Clan Tiers are also scattered throughout the Battle Pass. Additionally, players who purchase the Battle Pass bundle will get 20 free tiers and a free skin for Polina. PlayStation Plus members will also be able to access a free bundle later on including an operator skin, weapon blueprints, a Double-XP token, and other cosmetic items.
Season 1’s new operator is Francis “Kai” Lanakila representing S.O.T.F. Trident. Later in the season, Lewis Howard and Isabella Rosario Dulnuan Reyes also from Trident join the battle.
Season 1 includes five new weapons that players can add to their arsenal. Of these, three come at launch and two later in the season. At launch, players can unlock three new weapons through the Battle Pass. The Cooper Carbine assault rifle (Tier 15), the Gorenko Anti-Tank sniper rifle (Tier 31), and the Sawtooth melee (Tier 37) are all available on Day 1. The Katana melee and Welgun submachine gun are available later in-season.
Further, players can check out the in-game shop for plenty of new content-filled bundles.
Vanguard multiplayer receives plenty of content updates in Season 1. At launch, players can take the fight to two brand new maps. Paradise and Radar, a reimagined version of Modern Warfare 3’s Dome are available on day 1. Control, a fan favorite game mode comes later in Season 1 as well. Later in the season, during the Festive Fervor event, a new respawn-heavy mode will be introduced as well.
For the first time, players can unlock two new perks and a lethal equipment in the Battle Pass. Serpentine (Tier 21) reduces incoming damage while players are sprinting. Intuition (Tier 44) adds vision pulses when enemies are near, even through walls. In addition, a Special Incendiary Grenade is available at Tier 39.
Vanguard Zombies also receives content updates with the release of Season 1. A brand new objective called Purge tasks players with capturing control ruins while taking on waves of zombies. Fourteen new Covenant upgrades gives players new ways to spend their hard earned Sacrificial Hearts. A new Tome of Rituals, a new location in Von List’s Office, new support killstreaks, and other new features release alongside Season 1 as well.
Later in December, the Festive Fervor holidays event goes live in Call of Duty. Further, this season adds four additional prestige levels across 200 levels. Players will be able to level up across both Vanguard and Warzone upon Season 1’s launch.
