Plenty of new content, initially revealed in the Season 5 Roadmap, goes live with today’s update. Worth noting is that this is likely to be the final content update we see in Vanguard and Warzone before the October and November releases of Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2 respectively. Warzone

Resurgence Supreme has players dropping into a restocked, and reinforced, Rebirth Island. Players will find greater ground loot, no extraneous items, and more all while having increased health. Further, for those skillful enough to rack up 15+ eliminations while securing a victory, an exclusive animated calling card is up for grabs.

Later on in the season, fan-favorite playlists including Clash and Golden Plunder return.

Vanguard

Fortress, the newest multiplayer map coming into Vanguard goes live later in the season. Players will duke it out in a post-apocalyptic Mediterranean fortress all in search of that win. This map is suitable for all playstyles as players will find different areas on the map that call for a varied arsenal.

Across Titles

The bulk of the content coming with today’s update is available across both Vanguard and Warzone. Firstly, two new operators with familiar faces join the fight. Gabriel Rorke, of Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Seraph, of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and 4, become playable operators. Head on over to the in-game store to purchase bundles unlocking these brand new operators. Along with these operators come their favorite weapons. Players can add to their armory with the Lienna 57 LMG and the BP50 assault rifle.

Last Stand, the fifth and final season of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone begins on August 24th. Call of Duty showcased all that is to come this season through the posting of the usual roadmap. This roadmap highlights new modes, weapons, operators, maps, and more. With a lot to unpack surrounding Vanguard and Warzone Season 5 let’s jump straight into it.

Warzone

Peak, one of the hottest drops in Caldera, is about to get a lot hotter. At the launch of Season 5, head over the the new active volcano overlooking the island of Caldera. If that wasn’t hot enough for you, check out the new volcanic-themed gulag… but maybe you don’t want to see the gulag. In addition, both Rebirth Island and Caldera are experiencing new weather patterns making both islands brighter. Maybe the nice weather will be a good trade-off for a fight for your life for any would-be tourists. However, players should mind the skies for incoming lava rocks causing impact damage along with damage from volcanic fumes.

Tons of new items and equipment will be making Warzone that much more unique in the coming season. Doomsday Stations will have enemies descend from helicopters onto your position. For only $10,000 defend your position to earn exclusive loot and cosmetic items. Supply Box UAVs will help players find any unopen supply boxes around them for 15 seconds. Personal Supply Boxes, tracked down using Supply Box UAVs, gives players immediate access to their loadouts. Finally, Rage Serum will have players stomp loudly across the map while being more susceptible to stuns and flashes in exchange for increased melee damage, increased lunge distance, and increased stun power.

Operation: Last Call will have players fighting to either detonate or defuse bombs around Caldera in this Search and Destroy inspired mode. Finally, Heroes v. Villains pits two teams against each other and tasks players with finding Villain or Hero Tokens. The team that collects enough tokens, from either lotting supply boxes or finished enemies, wins exclusive weapon blueprints. More is also on the way with the mid-season update.

Vanguard

Coming to Vanguard with the launch of Season 5 is Beheaded, a war-torn Times Square in a post-apocalyptic world. The second new map, coming later in Season 5, is Fortress which pits players in a seaside ship and graveyard battle. A new ranked season begins in Season 5 which has players fighting for exclusive loot… and spots on the leaderboard.

The conclusion to the Vanguard zombies story is upon head. Drop into The Archon, the brand-new round-based zombies mode that brings an end to the chaos. Operators will have to come face-to-face with Kortifex the Deathless in the Dark Aether to come out victorious.

Across Titles

Plenty of updates coming with Season 5 span across both Vanguard and Warzone. Five brand new weapons are coming to Vanguard and Warzone with Season 5. At launch and through the Battle Pass players can unlock the EX1 Energy Rifle (AR). Also through the Battle Pass, players can get their hands on the RA 225 submachine gun. Through either an unlock challenge or purchase of a bundle, players can unlock the Valois Revolver handgun and melee weapon combo. Later in season, players can unlock the BP50 and Lienna 57 assault rifles.

Four new operators are coming in Season 5; all new operators will be familiar to veteran fans of Call of Duty. The first… Raul Menendez. Familiar to fans of the Black Ops series, Menendez is back to wreak havoc either for you or against you. Next up is Khaled Al-Asad. Known in the Modern Warfare universe, Al-Asad, only outranked by Vladimir Makarov, joins the fight. For those that wanted an answer to the cliffhanger the ending of the Call of Duty: Ghosts campaign left us on, this is at least a small answer. Gabriel T. Rourke, the former Ghost turned Federation leader drops in later in Season 5. Rounding out Task Force Tyrants is He “Seraph” Zhen-Zhen, seen in Black Ops III and 4, becomes a playable operator in Season 5.

The post Vanguard and Warzone Season 4 Mid-Season Update Revealed appeared first on I Play CoD.

]]>
We are already about halfway through Season 4 of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone. What that means is that the mid-season update is just around the corner. Starting on July 27th, this mid-season update brings plenty of new content across Vanguard and Warzone. With us knowing everything to come with the Vanguard and Warzone Season 4 Mid-Season Update let’s jump right into it.

Before the start of Season 4, the Roadmap detailed everything that was to come during this CoD season. Plenty of this content launched earlier in the season and yet there is plenty more content on the way. Taking a look at the roadmap, and using process of elimination, players can expect new maps, new weapons, new modes, and much more.

Warzone

Fortune’s Keep has recently become home to hordes of the undead. Several cursed chests have appeared around the island and hold valuable loot for those brave enough to face a hungry pack of zombies. A new event, Cursed Ground, will task players with eliminating zombies near these chest to harvests Wisps to unlock the loot inside. Rebirth of the Dead turns eliminated players on Rebirth Island into zombies who must find and fight for antivirals to resurrect themselves in a new limited time mode. In addition, Titanium Trials has players dropping into Caldera with 300 health, a self-revive, custom-built loot tables, and so much more. With this also comes a Titanium Trials: Endurance event.

Portable redeploy balloon field upgrades will allow players to spawn in their own balloon, with less health and height, to quickly move around the map. Also, the armored SUVs have been modified to now include a nitrous boost. It seems like some players will be moving around the map fast and furious. Finally, camos that players have unlocked through Vanguard zombies will be available for use in Warzone.

Vanguard

As far as Vanguard-exclusive content goes, not much is coming with this mid-season update. However, what is coming is sure to shake up the game. Desolation is a brand-new map that pits players against each other in a mountainside perched labyrinthine village. Players should expect close-quarters combat on a map with great verticality.

Across Titles

The final new operator, Ikenna Olowe, joins the fight alongside Butcher and Hendry in this mid-season update. Furthermore, his preferred weapon is the brand-new Vargo-S assault rifle. This weapon combines a high fire rate with pinpoint accuracy making it an all-around good weapon choice. Players can unlock this weapon through either an in-game challenge or store-bought bundle.

As The Terminator once said… “I’ll be back.” Back he is now in Call of Duty as players will be able to purchase the T-800 and T-1000 Terminator units that will be made available throughout the month of August. These bundles come with finishing moves, weapon blueprints, and plenty of other cosmetics.

Season 4 of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone starts this Wednesday, June 22nd. We’ve seen plenty of teasers and reveals of some content coming with Season 4 and now we have the entire roadmap. With Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Season 4 just over the horizon, let’s jump straight into the content.

Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone is seeing its fair share of updates with Season 4. The largest update coming to Warzone is the introduction of Fortune’s Keep. Fortune’s Keep is the new small-scale resurgence map replacing Rebirth Island, temporarily, in the coming season. Additionally, Fortune’s Keep offers plenty of points of interest (POIs) for operators to explore.

Caldera will also be seeing some changes with the start of Season 4. New Mercenary Vaults allow players to hunt for and fight over much-needed loot. Known for its vegetation, it would seem that the groundskeepers have finally made their way to Caldera as 50% of the maps vegetation will be gone. Finally, operators will have new micro-POIs to explore including the reintroduction of Storage Town, first seen in Verdansk.

Players can also look forward to plenty of new features across Warzone. Armored SUVs, portable redeploy balloons, and ATMs filled with cash top the list. Also being added are Black Market Runs for exclusive loot, an EMP grenade, and a new Cash Extraction event.

Vanguard Multiplayer

Season 4 shakes up Call of Duty: Vanguard with plenty of new content. Firstly, two new maps come to Vanguard multiplayer in Season 4. At launch, players are (re)introduced to USS Texas 1945, a new version of USS Texas from Call of Duty: WWII. Later in the season, the battle shifts to Desolation, the second new map in Season 4.

A classic party game returns with Blueprint Gun Game. This mode pits players against one another as they try to rank-up through different tiers of weapon blueprints.

Vanguard Zombies

Vanguard zombies is seeing it’s largest update since the introduction of Terra Maledicta. Shi No Numa, one of the most iconic zombies maps in history makes its return to the Call of Duty franchise. Furthermore, with Shi No Numa comes the start of round-based zombies in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Furthermore, a new Wonder Weapon Quest, a new Pack-a-Punch Camo, a new quest, story, narrative, and more come with Season 4.

Across Games

In Season 4, three new operators will join the fight. At launch, players can become Carver Burcher, and later in season, Callum Hendry and Ikenna Olowe become available for unlock. Four brand new weapons will be added to the armory for unlock in the new season as well. Through the Battle Pass, players can unlock the Marco 5 SMG and the UGM-8 LMG. Later in season, players can unlock the Push Dagger melee weapon and the Vargo-S AR. In this season, plenty of new bundles will be available for purchase as well.

Season 3 of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone continues to rage on as we move through the season. Classified Arms Reloaded, the mid-season update, is just around the corner. Call of Duty revealed some need-to-know intel about this coming update. With major changes coming to Vanguard and Warzone, there is a lot to cover.

Caldera

Looking back to Verdansk, players may remember the introduction of a moving train players could ride around the map. Now, in Caldera, a similar system is being introduced. This new system, however, will work as a fast-travel system. Players will interact with circular hatches and mine carts to fast-travel around Caldera. Using different visual cues, players will be able to know what, or who, is waiting for them on the other side.

Serpentine, a perk from Call of Duty: Vanguard, is being introduced into Warzone. This perk reduces incoming damage while sprinting, making it safer to traverse around Caldera. In addition, for those marksmen that take aim at a player running Serpentine, a snake indicator will pop up after hitting someone to let the shooter know of the perk their target is using.

Three brand new items make their appearance in Warzone with the mid-season update. A Gulag Entry Token allows players a second shot at the gulag after their initial visit or cash if it is picked up after the gulag is closed. Additionally, a Redeploy Extraction Token grants players an auto-redeploy without the need for the gulag or being bought back. The Speed Boost item grants players a temporary movement buff that, if used effectively, will reward the user and their squad. Further, the Radar Jammer field upgrade will disable the mini-map and use of streaks for anyone within its radius.

First seen in Operation Monarch, High Value Loot Zones will now appear across Battle Royale games. Champion of Caldera is a new 150-player mode in which players drop in with their loadout, a gas-mask, and Redeploy Extraction Token. Moreover, the circle is always closing and the buy station is upgraded to hold more useful items. Kills in this game mode immediately refill player health, equipment, and ammo.

Rebirth Island

A new Occupation Scan in-game event during standard Rebirth Resurgence matches will have operators hitting the deck. Those who fail to go prone during one of these scans will become visible to all enemies on the mini-map and tac map. Also noted with many information redacted, it is said that operators should be ready to attack a hostile base in order to save Rebirth Island.

Vanguard

Sphere, the second new map in Call of Duty: Vanguard with Season 3, comes with the mid-season update. This map, with great verticality, puts players in an underground weapons lab underneath the façade of a coal mine.

A brand new operator, Kim Tae Young, joins the fight and rounds out Task Force Harpy. This mask-wearing operator will be available through the purchase of an in-store bundle. Further, her preferred weapon is the brand new H4 Blixen. This slow-firing SMG combines power and mobility to make it a great weapon choice. To unlock, players either complete an in-game challenge (3 Slide Kills in a single match 15 times with an SMG) or by purchasing an in-store bundle.

In addition to this, many new in-store bundles will be available for purchase to allow players to further customize their operators, armory, and profiles.

Excitement grew when Treyarch was announced as the lead developer behind Vanguard zombies. However, when Vanguard was released, many people were surprised by the atypical zombies experience. That said, the typical zombies experience is coming back as round based zombies is coming to Vanguard.

A few months ago, Shi No Numa returned to Call of Duty through a portal in Der Anfang. With this, many players wondered if we would see a full-scale Shi No Numa in the future. As per a Treyarch blog post that is exactly what we are going to get. Treyarch confirmed that a round based zombies mode on a full-scale reimagined Shi No Numa is coming to Vanguard.

This revamped Shi No Numa comes complete with door buys, wall buys, a wonder weapon, and more familiar to CoD zombies veterans. Beyond this, the Dark Aether story, introduced in Black Ops Cold War, continues in Vanguard.

Treyarch plans to bring Shi No Numa to Vanguard after Season 3. However, Season 3 of zombies will have new updates and content. Players can expect new challenges, rewards, bug fixes, and more.

Shi No Numa is just the beginning; this new addition is just the foundation of what is to come. Additionally, players should expect lots of new content beyond what is revealed now.

Moreover, a Rebirth Reinforced event allows players to compete for exclusive rewards.

Vanguard

In Vanguard, players can expect plenty of new updates and content. A brand new 12v12 mode, Arms Race (inspired by Ground War) becomes available to play. With that comes a brand new Arms Race-only map, Alps. To traverse Alps, motorcycles, CD12 transport vehicles, and tanks have been introduced.

Vanguard Season 2 begins four days from the time of writing on February 14th, 2022. As with all new seasons, players can expect plenty of new content across Call of Duty titles. Some of this content, however, is available now in Vanguard custom games! Players can now experience and experiment with two of Vanguard’s new maps and weapons.

One of the new maps available at launch of the new season is Casablanca. Based in a Moroccan marketplace, players should expect gunfights at all ranges with great verticality. This map will be reminiscent of the three-lane-style typical of Call of Duty.

Casablanca is not the only new map with Season 2 however. Additionally, players can take the battle to Gondola. The power-plant calls for close-quarters combat whereas the gondola route provides long-range engagements. Players can travel on the gondola over a gulch and fire watchtower. However, players should watch their step and make sure they get off the gondola before it sends them over the cliff.

Also available for players to try out are the new equipment and perks. The new sticky bomb lethal equipment, which some players will remember as the semtex, is available for use. Further, players can also try out the new armory and mechanic perks. Players can also try out the new Ball Turret Gunner killstreak, reminiscent of the streak from 2017’s CoD: WWII.

Arguably the most exciting Season 2 additions that can be used now are the new weapons. Players can now experiment with and test two new weapons. The first of these is the KG M40 assault rifle. This new AR is described as a “workhorse assault rifle, naturally steady and accurate.” From that description alone one could believe that this weapon is built for all situations.

The armory expands further with the Whitley light machine gun. This is the first addition to the LMG class since Vanguard’s launch in November. This weapon is described as a “heavy long-range machine gun, cumbersome but consistent.” Based on that description, this gun may limit movement but certainly packs a punch.

Remember, all of these are available in custom games only until the launch of Season 2.

To read more about this and all Season 2 content, click here to read Call of Duty’s blog post.

Vanguard and Warzone Season 2 is on the horizon starting in only a few days’ time. With plenty of new content on the way, Call of Duty as we know it is sure to change. Earlier today, Call of Duty revealed the roadmap for Vanguard and Warzone Season 2! Initially delayed by 12 days, Season 2 begins on February 14th. This new season brings plenty of changes to Vanguard and Warzone, changes sure to shake up the world of Call of Duty. With plenty of exciting content to cover let’s jump straight into it.

Warzone

Warzone, Call of Duty’s Battle Royale, sees a plethora of changes with the Season 2 update. Players will be able to use a Nebula V Ammo field upgrade that emits a poisonous gas cloud when an opponent is downed. Nebula V Bombs work similarly. This is sure to make small spaces, and reviving teammates, even more chaotic. Further, Portable Decontamination Stations can filter the air around players, eliminating the effects of Nebula V. If you and your team get caught in the circle collapse, you can now give yourself some time to heal without taking damage. Armored trucks and bomber planes also make their way into Warzone with this update. Players will also be able to utilize redeploy balloons to zipline up to and jump off of to cover more ground quickly.

Operators will be able to explore two new points of interest in Caldera in the Chemical Factory and Chemical Weapon Research Lab. Additionally, new modes are coming to Warzone in Caldera Clash and Rebirth Iron Trials. Rebirth Island will also see an update with Rebirth Reinforced.

Vanguard Multiplayer

Vanguard multiplayer receives some exciting updates with Season 2! Two new maps, Casablanca and Gondola, release alongside the launch of Season 2. The Battle Pass has some interesting tier unlocks similar to season 1. The Ball Turret Gunner killstreak and Sticky Bomb lethal equipment (semtex) are unlockable through the Battle Pass. In addition, two new perks, Armory and Mechanic are unlockable as well. Armory works as a direct counter to Engineer while Mechanic buffs Field Upgrade charge time. With Season 2 launching on Valentines Day, players can expect some themed experiences in Vanguard!

Arms Race, a new mode involving vehicles, will also be seen in the new season. Ranked Play is being introduced into Vanguard in Season 2 (in beta at launch) allowing players to fuel their competitive fire.

Vanguard Zombies

Vanguard Zombies will also be seeing its fair share of updates as well. A brand new hub map, Terra Maledicta, takes the fight away from Der Anfang to a new location with new objectives. The Dark Aether makes it return as an entirely new location. A new ally entity in Vercanna the Last enters the fray alongside a new artifact power in Healing Aura. However, a new enemy entity, Zaballa the Deceiver, will try to make things more difficult for players. Two Wonder Weapons are being introduced as well, the Decimator Shield and the fan favorite classic Ray Gun.

New sacrifice objectives, story quests, and side easter eggs are being introduced as well. Through this, the Dark Aether story continues. Veterans of CoD zombies will also sense some familiarity through the easter egg inspired by Black Ops II’s Origins. This is the second nod to classic zombies maps in Vanguard with Shi No Numa recently introduced. A new Covenant ability, Artifact Ward gives players the chance to trigger their artifact for free when hit from the rear.

New Content Across Vanguard and Warzone

Three new operators will join the fight in Season 2 representing SOTF Yeti. Anna Drake is available at launch while Thomas Bolt and Gustavo Dos Santos come later in the season. Players can add four new weapons to their arsenal during Season 2. The KG M40 assault rifle and Whitley LMG are available at launch. Meanwhile, the Ice Axe melee and throwable weapon and the Armaguerra 43 SMG will be made available later.

Happy 115 Day, zombies fan! This day, celebrated on January 15th (1/15) “honors” Element 115, a major piece of the Call of Duty zombies story. Element 115 was first seen on Shi No Numa, a zombies map originally seen in World at War. To celebrate 115 Day this year, Shi No Numa has made its return to the Call of Duty franchise.

Players can now access Shi No Numa in Call of Duty: Vanguard. However, it cannot be accessed as its own map but rather through Der Anfang. Through a new Void objective, players can access this classic zombies map. However, getting to Shi No Numa will take a bit of effort.

Players must leave the Stalingrad Fountain spawn point through the northern portal and complete the specified objective. Players can then move through the previously blocked gates. Then, players should head for the objective in the building directly in front of them, then completing that objective as well. Finally, players can head up the stairs to Von List’s Office and enter the Void objective.

In the Void objective, players are transported to Shi No Numa where they play the round-based experience typical to Call of Duty zombies. Players can flee Shi No Numa every three rounds should they want and continue along the newly introduced quest.

The Dark Aether story, introduced through Black Ops Cold War, is returning in Vanguard. The Dark Aether entities, such as Kortifix, will definitely shake up the story. More information on this is sure to come in the future!
