A breakdown of what we can expect to see for the duration of Black Ops Cold War Season 4

Season 4 is set to begin in a huge way with the Ground Fall limited-time event which will have players find and secure SAT-Links to score exclusive rewards while tackling objectives pertaining to the new maps, modes, and weapons in Black Ops Cold War as well as the new points of interest in Warzone. Completing challenges will unlock rewards such as emblems, calling cards, a satellite weapon charm, and XP and if players complete all challenges they will receive an “out of this world” secondary weapon blueprint.

Players can expect five new weapons to be added throughout Season 4. At launch we will see the introduction of the MG82 LMG. This new LMG is the first addition to its weapon class since the game’s launch and will be available for unlock at Tier 15 of the Season 4 Battle Pass. Also available at launch is the C58 assault rifle which will be available for unlock at Tier 31 of the Season 4 Battle Pass. Yet another new weapon will be available at launch with the introduction of the Nail Gun, the 1980s precursor to Black Ops III’s Nail Gun, which will be a special weapon and SMG depending on if you are playing Cold War or Warzone. In-season players will be able to unlock the OTs 9 SMG as well as the Mace melee weapon.

Four new multiplayer maps are set to be released during Season 4. At launch, both Collateral (12v12) and Collateral Strike (6v6) will be available for players to hop into the fast-paced map based in the deserts of Algeria where a CIA satellite has crashed into an abandoned village built for both traditional and Combined Arms play. Also seen at launch will be Amsterdam, the new 2v2 and 3v3 map that pits players against each other on the roofs of Amsterdam as seen in the Black Ops Cold War campaign mission “Nowhere Left to Run”. Hijacked (6v6), the classic Black Ops II map will also be available at launch as players fight on a commandeered superyacht. Hijacked is not the only classic Black Ops II map returning to Black Ops Cold War in Season 4 as Rush (6v6) makes its return to the franchise as players fight across the paintball-themed map.

New operators will also be introduced as we see Jackal (Warsaw Pact) at launch and Salah and Weaver (NATO) both coming in-season.

New multiplayer modes, one new and two fan-favorites, will be seen during Season 4. At launch, players can hop into Multi-Team: Sat-Link to power up and keep satellites online for as long as possible to gain points throughout a variety of locations across the Ural Mountains. Fans of party games are sure to enjoy this next bit as One in the Chamber makes its return to Black Ops Cold War at the launch of Season 4. Lastly, Capture the Flag will be added in during the season.

Season 4 will also see the introduction of a brand new scorestreak, the Hand Cannon. This semi-automatic handgun chambers an insanely high-caliber round that is sure to deliver a lethal shot at any point on the body and also do significant damage to other scorestreaks.

Outbreak will also be seeing an update in Season 4 with a new region (a zoo based in the Ural Mountains), main quest and intel. Further, fans of zombies on PlayStations can expect new zombies Onslaught content as the mode moves to new maps and even updated modes. Fans of the classic round-based zombies experience can get excited for Mauer der Toten as the newest chapter in Black Ops Cold War zombies comes mid-season.

Warzone will also be seeing its fair share of updates with Season 4. New points of interest in the satellite crash sites will be available at launch as well as the new dirt bike vehicle and the new Hijack-themed Gulag. What was Nakatomi Plaza in Warzone has now been re-themed as the Downtown Tower under new-management with cleaned out vaults. Also, at launch for Warzone will be the introduction of the mysterious Red Doors that are sure to shake up the Warzone experience. Warzone will also see the introduction of two new modes in Verdansk Mini Resurgence (launch) and Payload (mid-season) which will be Warzone’s first objective-based mode as players are tasked to escort two caravans of vehicles through checkpoints or sabotage the mission. With Season 4, the Baseball Bat melee weapon seen in Black Ops Cold War enters the fray in Warzone.
